DBS replaced 3 boilers at sky studios for 3 Hoval Ultra Gas 2 400kw boilers. The reason the 3 boilers were replaced is that 2 of the boilers had been condemned and due to the age of the boilers the parts were obsolete. DBS were asked by the client if we could keep the only operational boiler running for the duration of the project so the office & studio space could still have heating, which of course we successfully did.
This was challenging as the operational boiler was situated in the middle of the 3 existing boilers so it meant we would need to organise the crane to be on site for 2 separate visits this also added complications for our specialist lift and shift team. Throughout the project we had the use of a bocker crane to lift the old boilers out and then the new boilers up to the roof plant area. DBS were responsible for the full mechanical works including installation of new flues, carrying out the electrical isolations and re connections and re integrating the new boilers back onto the BMS. DBS managed to turn the project round in 2.5 weeks and get it all finished in before the Easter Holidays
